FTP Instructions

If you have received confirmation that an FTP account has been set up for you, follow these steps to connect to the Coalson Editions server and upload your print files.

WINDOWS

1. Open "My Computer"

2. Towards the top of the window, there is an address bar. In that address bar, type

ftp.coalsoneditions.com

3. You will be asked for a user name and password. Enter them and click OK.

4. You're now viewing your FTP folder on my server. You will see a file called Hello.txt. (No need to read it, it's empty.) But just so you can see it's there and you know you're in the right place.

5. Drag and drop files you want printed into the FTP window. You can also put text files with instructions there if you want to.

Tip: You can map the FTP folder as a network drive.

MAC OS X

Although you can connect to an FTP server in the Finder, the FTP volume will be mounted as read-only. So you can download, but not upload using the Finder.

You will need a third-party program to upload files via FTP. I recommend Transmit. There are also many other freeware and shareware FTP programs available for the Mac; do a Google search and you'll find lots of options.

Refer to the Help files for your FTP program to set up an FTP connection and connect to the Coalson Editions server.
